Comment

Stereoscopic lithography confirmed that the cause of facial asymmetry was related to abnormal growth (malar hypoplasia) and not a malunited fracture.

Facial contour was manipulated using a technique called photomorphanalysis and digital photography. This was useful in obtaining informed consent and the patient was shown a prediction of the outcome of surgery.

This technique permitted great precision in the correction of a midface deformity with minimal access techniques, and obviated the need for major surgery.
